The Amana Arts Guild, 1210 G Street, High Amana, located in one of the seven Amana historic villages of the Amana Colony, will sponsor a Fall Fiber Art Show and Sale on Saturday November 4 and Sunday November 5.  The show and sale is a special Holiday shopping event for those unique one of a kind items. Admission is free.  Hot cider and treats will be available.

This intimate event celebrates rug-making, spinning, weaving, and needlework.  Several of the artisans will be demonstrating their craft.   Along with individual artisans the Guild’s “Handmade in Amana” shop will be open to the public. The shop features quilts, baskets, rag rugs, all types of needlework as well as a variety of other arts and crafts. 

Saturday hours are 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday hours are 10 AM to 4 PM.

Villages Christmas Haus Tour……………………………………………………………………………………December 2-3

$10 per person

Tickets are on sale now at the Amana Colonies Visitor’s Center and at the Amana Arts Guild and will be available at each home on the days of the event.  The $10 cost is for the entire tour.  Children under 12 free.

Amana Arts Guild will host the Christmas Haus Tour this year.  It is an event filled with lovely traditions and whimsical surprises.  During this festive season the Amana Arts Guild welcomes visitors to its 12th annual Christmas Tour of homes.  Progress has not eradicated the town’s treasured traditions and quaint customs.  Amana’s cedar sided, limestone and time bleached brick buildings have weathered for well over a century.  Tour private homes decorated for the holidays and take part in the ambience of Christmas in the Amana Colonies.  Visit with homeowners and get to know the colonies in a whole new way while you visit homes with stories as remarkable and varied as the colonies themselves.  The homes on the tour this year are:

While in the area visit the Tannebaum Forest open November 24th to December 17th, this enchanted forest at the Festhalle Barn is created by local businesses, artists and volunteers.  Live Christmas trees inspire holiday wishes while you visit with Santa and see the 17 foot tall handcrafted Weihnacht’s Pyramid.  Also enjoy Prelude to Christmas December 1-3, the Colonies advent celebration.  Shop on candlelit streets in the village of Amana and visit the Amana Church Bazaar and Cookie Walk.
